It was wonderful to explore a luxury hotel in the heart of Johannesburg
Johannesburg, named the City of Gold for good reason. If you’re looking for an up-scaled staycation in South Africa then I highly recommend The Westcliffe Four Seasons hotel. With streaming staircases, waterfall vines in the panoramic garden and mirrored pillars holding up vast crème ceilings, these introductions exude opulence. Simply stated, this is unmatched beauty to the max. The hotel quickly climbed the ranks of favorite properties I’ve ever stayed at, and I think the photos/ videos below are pretty self-explanatory on why.
A room with a view
Decorated in the most lavish African contemporary colors and textiles, The Westcliffe Four Seasons hotel offers five-star luxury accommodation and was the perfect abode for my #Staycation away atop an elevated hillside in the city’s prestigious northern suburbs.
Leaping out from a King-size bed onto a private balcony which overlooks the forest-strewn views, it’s befitting of the unique title of the room which hosted me. The pristine Panoramic view Premier room features a spacious lounge with a fireplace, a separate dressing area with a workspace to inspire productivity for those needing to retreat away into solitude to meet that deadline – I mean if you’re going to work from “home”, might as well do it with a view right? Which brings me to the charming terrace that overlooks a delicate landscape of lush greenery. My vision was blurred by all of natures’ gifts placed in my presence, all for the love of leisure and luxury met with Mother Earth to balance it for me #loveAlil
Globally known for their comfortable beds, The Westcliffe Four Seasons did not disappoint.
Rest and rejuvenation were a well-earned spoil with sheets that embellished my body and lulled me into a serene dream state only to wake up knowing I was simply living my dream #Livalil. With marble bathroom features that separate the shower from a deep soaking bathtub, the neatly maintained, fresh, clean and airy feel we were met with gave me more insight on what I should gain from high quality getaways.
The hotels overall design features merge the traditional and timeless Four Seasons style with the bright modern structure of Johannesburg. Marble flooring, contemporary crystal chandeliers, and plush furniture, the subtle African interiors of zebra, leopard and other animal print décor seem to compliment the serene Rose and Jacaranda gardens that disconnects one from the city’s hustle & bustle.
Equipped with High-speed internet throughout the hotel, I was able to easily capture my stay and swiftly integrate my experience with live sneak peaks of the luxury induced staycation.
The leisure part of my staycation featured two swimming pools, there’s an outdoor heated lap pool in the spa, with a peaceful ambience to glide the days’ exhaustion away. The ideal spot to splash around and have some fun is the second pool which is family-friendly, most comfortably used by larger groups and can be accessed by the stairs from the lobby. If you’re the smart shade-finder like myself, there are plenty leafy green trees to mask one from the sun.
“Dining for the finer things in life”
Breakfast is served à la carte and you can choose between a continental, English or healthy power breakfast. The Westcliffe Four Seasons features 3 onsite dining venues. Après-Spa hosts a lighter; more cozy experience that’s paired with your treatment of choice on the outdoor spa-lounge. The In-Room Dining restaurant sets the tone for a decadent dining experience.
Flames Restaurant:
Flames offers a feel-good spontaneous fare, with a menu of local and seasonal produce, grilled meats and seafood paired with a wide range of beverages to quench the summer thirst. Flames restaurant opens to an endless terrace with striking panoramic views. Its vibrant atmosphere provides the picture-perfect social scene where hotel guests meet. To find yourself at this flaming gem you would have to put your high heels on and step into a glass elevator which show off the most endearing views during the night sky transit.
Would I stay here again?
Of course, Yes! I’m already planning my next Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts trip.
The overall service at The Westcliffe Four Seasons is exclusive and extremely efficient, as you would expect from one of the world’s most exclusive hotel brands. As with all Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts worldwide, the staff knows your name from day one. The facilities on site are beyond one’s expectations, it’s a mighty treat just exploring the interiors and exteriors of the grandeur feeling the hotel invokes in their guests.
Staff Special Mention
Staying at the Four Seasons Westcliff was a dreamy experience. My dining experience was superb, with proficient service all-around, the accommodation was extremely comfortable and relaxed.
It was wonderful to explore a luxury hotel in the heart of Johannesburg and one of my favorite parts was the fact that every member of the team addressed me by name!
