A much-needed staycation with my favourite people. This past winter, my bestie and I embarked on the most incredible escape right here in Cape Town, and I absolutely have to spill all the T so that you can plan your own!
Our destination? The exquisite The Capital 15 on Orange and its serene The Grotto Spa. Trust me when I say, this wasn’t just a trip; it was a full-blown winter glow-up, packed with luxury, relaxation, and unforgettable bestie moments.

This was truly the highlight of our staycation! Our morning was dedicated to The Grotto Spa, it’s a haven of tranquility. Wrapped in our robes, sipping on tea, we surrendered to the ultimate pampering. The hot stone massage was heavenly, and the steam room left our skin glowing. Seriously, sometimes self-care is a weekend away where everything just melts away.
After feeling completely refreshed, we were ready to explore. The Capital’s prime location meant Cape Town was literally on our doorstep. We enjoyed a delightful brunch, indulged in some retail therapy on Bree Street, and took a leisurely stroll along the V&A Waterfront. Returning to the hotel felt like coming back to our luxurious sanctuary, perfect for a quick change into our dinner looks!
Book your spa treatments in advance, especially on weekends, as The Grotto Spa is a popular spot! Allocate a good chunk of your day to the spa experience; you won’t regret it. For exploring, prioritize areas close to the hotel if you prefer not to drive much.
Goodbyes & Cherished Memories
Soaking in those last moments of luxury. We had a leisurely dinner, enjoyed our final cuisine ritual, and, of course… Don’t rush your departure.
